Designed as a filler rather than an adhesive, Stomahesive Paste fills skin folds, scars, creases, and uneven skin surfaces to create a smoother pouching area, helping reduce leakage and improve ostomy system wear time.
The Stomahesive Paste contains a pectin-based hydrocolloid formulation that helps protect the skin surrounding the stoma while supporting a secure seal between the skin barrier and the skin. By minimizing gaps beneath the ostomy wafer, the paste helps reduce the risk of leakage that can cause peristomal skin irritation and breakdown.
Unlike glue or adhesive products, Stomahesive Paste functions as a caulking material. It can be applied directly to the adhesive side of compatible ostomy skin barriers or directly onto the skin around the stoma where additional protection or filling is needed. Once the skin barrier is applied, gentle pressure distributes the paste evenly to create an effective secondary seal.
The paste is suitable for individuals with colostomies, ileostomies, and urostomies. It is particularly beneficial for patients with uneven peristomal skin, scars, folds, or minor skin irregularities that make achieving a secure pouch seal more difficult.
Stomahesive Paste is intended for external use only and should not be applied to open wounds or skin ulcers. The formulation contains alcohol, which may cause a temporary mild stinging sensation when applied to damaged skin.

How to Use Stomahesive Paste
- Clean and dry the skin around the stoma.
- Prepare the ostomy skin barrier according to its instructions.
- Apply a thin bead of Stomahesive Paste around the opening on the adhesive side of the wafer or directly onto uneven skin, folds, scars, or exposed skin around the stoma.
- Do not spread the paste. If shaping is required, lightly wet your finger before smoothing.
- Center the skin barrier over the stoma and apply gentle pressure to create a secure seal.
- Replace the ostomy appliance according to your normal wear schedule.
